"I draw and paint from life; frequently outdoors, working in ink, watercolour or oil paint. I suspect my strongest work is made direct or en plein air; when I immerse myself in environments. I have a particular attraction to places of historical or geographical interest, and places with some type of uniqueness. I am drawn to tonal and patterned visual elements especially with structural subjects; whilst enjoying the mark making opportunities and challenges these aspects also present. I relish exploring scale in both, the formats I work in, and by attempting to capture a sense of scale and the impact of something’s size in my work.” KW 2020
